Beach Cities Sports Youth Flag Football Offers Lane Kiffin Immediate Coaching Position

Manhattan Beach, CA (October 3, 2013) – Taking the lead of ESPN Sports Radio Host, Mark Willard, who mentioned on-air that Lane Kiffin would be a good fit for their league, (http://espn.go.com/espnradio/losangeles/play?id=9749812 – around 1:55) Beach Cities Sports Youth Flag Football (BCS) is proud to extended an “Immediate Coaching Position” contract to former University of Southern California head football coach, Lane Kiffin.

The contract, estimated to be worth “in the low single digits”, according to Jeff Nicosia, BCS Registrar, is the first ever offered by the six year old recreational youth sports league. League Co-President, Kevin Barnett, explained: “most of our coaches have a day job and have to squeeze in their ninety-minute practice between their nightly commute and kid’s bath time. We felt Coach Kiffin, being a local resident, currently has some extra time on his hands.” Added Nicosia: “Coach Kiffin, in all seriousness, has been very gracious in his support of the league in the past, and we are proud to support him in any of his future endeavors.”

The BCS, (www.bcsflagfootball.com) as it’s known, has had over 3000 players suit up over it’s 11 seasons, with over 500 kids, ranging in age from 5 to 12 years old, playing on over 50 teams this season. Numerous professional coaches from the high school, collegiate and NFL ranks, as well as former (and current) NFL players and commentators have children playing in the league this season, or in season’s past.

Created by the community, for the community, the BCS is a volunteer-managed, 501 c non-profit organization serves the beach cities of Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, El Segundo, Torrance, and Palos Verdes areas (however, players can come from anywhere).
